Clean the vazhaipoo and keep it in a bowl of water with a tsp of curd added. Meanwhile , heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard , methi seeds ,red chillies and Jeera. Once it splutters , add chopped onion and saute till tender.

- Soak the chana in warm water for 2 hours. Clean, wash and boil in a pressure cooker. Chop the Potato.
- Separate the banana flowers from each other. - - Remove the hard parts of each flower as seen on photo.The hard part cause bitterness. - - Boil the flowers in hot water. Drain and chop.Take a kadhai. Heat oil. Add panch phutan and hing. Let it sputter. - - Fry the Onion paste till translucent. Add ginger-garlic paste, Kashmiri chilli powder, turmeric, salt and chopped tomatoes. - - Mix well. Slow down the flame and cover the Kadhai. Cook till the tomatoes are softened and oil is separated.
- Now add 1cup of water and mix rest of the dry masala. Cook uncovered for 2 minutes in low medium flame. - - Add chopped banana flowers, potatoes and boiled chana, cover and cook till it is done. - Serve hot by garnishing with chopped coriander leaves with roti, poori or paratha. - Thanks.
