- Prepare Lentils
- Take Water
- Prepare Salt
- Make ready Onion
- Take Tumeric
- Make ready Green chilli
- Prepare Tomatoes (optional)
- Get Chopped garlic
- Take Oil

Instructions to make Dhaal:
- Wash your lentils and proceed to pour water 1cm above the lentils.
- Add one tbsp of salt, a whole chopped onion and let boil.
- Once softened (gone pale yellow and mushy), add 1/4 tspn of tumeric and let boil.
- Add 3cm worth of water to replace the water lost from the boil.
- Add sliced green chillies and tomatoes
- In a separate saucepan, add oil (4.5 tbsp) and chopped garlic and fry until very dark browned.
- Add the garlic mixture to the lentils. Be careful of the splatter!!
- Mix and add chopped corriander.
- Enjoy it.
