It is typically flavored with desiccated coconut, cardamom, raisins, saffron, cashews, pistachios, almonds, or other dry fruits and nuts. Transfer the firni into a serving dish and top with the reserved fruit and nuts.

The ingredients needed to make Firni:
  1. Prepare 1 ltr milk
  2. Prepare 1/4 cup sugar
  3. Prepare 4 Tbsp small grain rice ground

  6. Take 1 tsp cardamom powder
  7. Prepare Few drops of Rose Water
  8. Take Almonds and Pistachios for garnish

Fine grained basmati rice is the rice preferred to make phirni and rice kheer. Phirni is traditonally served in small earthern bowls also called as Shikoras. both phirni and rice kheer are my family favorites and I often end up making these on occasions. phirni recipe rice phirni recipe with step by step photo and video recipe. even though it is sometimes confused to rice kheer because of the use of rice grains, yet there is slight difference. basically the rice grains are soaked in water and grounded to coarse paste which is later mixed with thickened milk. In serving dish,add caramel firni,garnish with almonds,caramel crunch & serve!

Steps to make Firni:
  1. Chop almonds, khoya, rice separately and set aside
  2. In a bowl add milk, sugar, rice, almonds and bring it to boil on slow flame stirring constantly to dissolve sugar
  3. Add khoya and stir for 10 mins on slow flame
  4. Keep stirring until rice is cooked. Set aside. Cook for 10 mins. Add cardamom powder, Rose Water and set aside
  5. Garnish with chopped almonds, pistachios and fruits. Refrigerate for 1 hour and enjoy
