The ingredients needed to make Fenugreek and guava / methi amrood subji:
- Take 3cup Fenugreek leaves –
- Prepare 2 Guavas –big
- Make ready 1 Onion –small
- Prepare 1 Tomato – medium sized (optional)
- Prepare Others :
- Make ready 1 tbsp Oil
- Make ready 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
- Make ready 1 tbsp Ginger paste –
- Get 1 tsp Coriander powder
- Get 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- Make ready 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- Make ready Garam masala powder Or
- Take 1 tsp tandoori masala powder
- Make ready (you can put either of them)
- Prepare to taste Salt
Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and red chilli and saute till cumin seeds change colour. Add ginger and onion and saute till golden. Dana Methi ki sabji or Fenugreek seeds curry is an authentic Rajasthani curry made with dry fenugreek seeds, dried fruits like dates, cashews, and raisins, and sugar or jaggery. People in Rajasthan depend a lot of dried foods like fenugreek seeds, and ker sangri due to the hot weather and unavailability of fresh vegetables.
Instructions to make Fenugreek and guava / methi amrood subji:
- Wash and chop fenugreek leaves, onion, Cut guavas into cubes (you can also remove the seeds), heat oil add mustard seeds, ginger paste stir and add onions… cook till soft (now add in chopped tomato if using)
- Add fenugreek leaves and stir for few minutes
- Add coriander, turmeric, red chilli, garam masala powder/tandoori masala powder stir well for a minute
- Add guavas and salt stir again for a minute, Add 1/4 cup water, cover and simmer the flame & leave it for 3-4 minutes to blend well (made using tandoori masala powder)
- Combine everything once and serve hot
Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan, add the cumin seeds and asafoetida and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds. Methi dana sabzi is also a very good post natal food and for lactating mothers.
